Gary Johnson has been with Dorsey & Whitney LLP for 33 years. He was a member of the firm’s Policy Committee and also served on the firm’s Management Committee. As a Partner and past Chair in Dorsey & Whitney’s Tax, Trusts and Estates group, Mr. Johnson offers clients the benefit of his comprehensive knowledge in the areas of wealth management, tax and estate planning, business ownership succession planning, trust and probate administration, trust and will litigation, and counseling fiduciaries of trusts and non-profit organizations.

After receiving a B.A. in Economics from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota, in 1969, Mr. Johnson earned his Juris Doctorate degree in 1973 from New York University School of Law, where he graduated cum laude, and was a member of the Order of the Coif. He was also Managing Editor from 1972-73 and Staff Member from 1971-72 of the Annual Survey of American Law.

Mr. Johnson is a fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. He is a Board Member of General Theological Seminary in New York, NY and has served on the Board of the Episcopal House of Prayer. He is a Trustee of the Hamilton H. Kellogg and Mildred H. Kellogg Charitable Trust.
